My humble, but almost always correct opinion: About 1% of SUV owners in America really NEED an SUV. The other 99% of SUV lovers are paying the cool tax. What is the cool tax? That’s the difference between the $100 per fill up you pay vs. the $50 or so I pay in my mini van. It’s nice to know there is some advantage to being totally un-hip.

I pay the cool tax because it is cool here. Right no its 26 degrees F. Last week I drove to Walmart in a foot of snow. I left my mini van at home.
